Angolan President João Lourenço has said Sino-Angolan cooperation has helped his country develop economically and socially, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency quotes Mr Lourenço as saying so when he met a senior Chinese defence official, Xu Qiliang, in Luanda.

Mr Lourenço said Angola was seeking greater Sino-Angolan cooperation in defence matters, and was willing to strengthen Sino-Angolan ties in the political arena.

Sino-Angolan cooperation has achieved remarkable results, and the Sino-Angolan relationship is a model for all Sino-African relationships, Xinhua quotes Mr Xu as saying.
