State-owned China Energy Investment Corp. will cover the US$120 million cost of building a wind power farm with a capacity of over 100 megawatts in the southern Mozambican province of Maputo, AIM reports.

The Mozambican news agency quotes the spokesman for the provincial government, Olga Manjate, as saying the wind farm will be in the Manhiça district.

Ms Manjate said the wind farm would have 30 turbines, each with a capacity of 2 megawatts, connected by a 45-kilometre power line and associated substations to the Bilene district of the southern Mozambican province of Gaza.

The builders expect to finish their work in 2022, AIM quotes Ms Manjate as saying.
