Senior officials of the ruling party in Angola, the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), and the ruling party in China, the Communist Party of China (CPC) have met in Luanda and undertaken to strengthen their friendship and cooperate more, Angop reports.

The Angolan state-run news agency says Luísa Damião led the MPLA officials at the meeting and Guo Yezhou led the CPC officials.

Mr Guo’s visit to Luanda is meant to reinforce Sino-Angolan friendship, Angop quotes him as saying.

Separately, Jornal de Angola reports that Mr Guo has also had talks with a leading member of the Angolan legislature, Emília Carlota.

The Chinese and Angolan legislatures could cooperate more closely, the newspaper quotes Mr Guo as saying.
