The Brazilian editions of the translations into Portuguese of the first two volumes of a political discourse written by Chinese President Xi Jinping have been published in the city of São Paulo on Tuesday, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency says the 260 or more guests at the book launch included the deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Liang Yanshun, Chinese Consul-General in São Paulo Chen Peijie and Governor João Doria of the surrounding state of São Paulo.

The book is entitled “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China”.

The report quotes Mr Liang as saying publication of the book in Brazil will positively influence Sino-Brazilian relations, namely by boosting exchanges on governance.

Mr Doria said Brazilians should read the book and draw inspiration from China’s experience in facing many challenges, Xinhua says.
