Chinese state-owned shipbuilder COSCO Shipyard Group Co. Ltd is constructing a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for Malaysian ship owner Yinson Holdings Bhd, the Offshore Engineer website reports.

The website, citing Yinson as its source, says the Brazilian state-owned oil company, Petrobras, will use the FPSO vessel in the Marlim pre-salt oilfield off southern Brazil.

The report says the vessel is called the Anna Nery.

The Anna Nery is now in dry dock in Shanghai but will be moved next year to the COSCO Shipyard Group yard in the eastern Chinese city of Qidong for the last stage of construction.

The vessel should begin operating in 2023 and remain in Brazil for 25 years, producing up to 70,000 barrels of oil and 4 million cubic meters of gas a day, the Offshore Engineer website says.
