Angola ranks as China’s largest oil supplier in July

Angola overtook Saudi Arabia and Russia in July to become China’s largest oil supplier for the first time this year, show data from China’s General Administration of Customs.

According to the data – quoted by online media outlet Macauhub – China imported a total of 4.72 million tonnes of oil from Angola in July, or 1.11 million barrels per day, up by 23.3 percent from the prior-year period.

In the first seven months of 2016, Angola remained as the third-largest oil supplier to China, behind Saudi Arabia and Russia. China imported 26.94 million tonnes of oil from Angola, or 923,200 barrels per day, in the seven months to July 31, up by 18-percent year-on-year.
