The China Three Gorges (CTG) company will on Monday issue seven scholarships; for some Portuguese students that wish to join postgraduate programmes in China. The firm gave the news in a statement as quoted by Portuguese newspaper Económico.
The students have been attending programmes in, respectively, Portugal’s Universidade de Lisboa, University of Porto and University of Coimbra. They have been selected to further their studies in Chinese universities in the next academic year.
The CTG Scholarship scheme has an overall budget of 500,000 euros (US$563,600), according to the statement quoted by the newspaper. Each individual scholarship awarded under the scheme is worth 25,000 euros.
The programme is aimed at Portuguese students interested in attending master or doctoral programmes in higher education institutions in China. The eligible subject areas are: Chinese language and culture; art; history; archaeology; economics; business management; engineering; and architecture, CTG said.
