Guinea-Bissau will join an economic summit between China and Africa to be held this year, said the country’s Prime Minister, Baciro Dja, as reported by online news portal Macahub.

Mr Dja made his remarks on Friday in a meeting with China’s Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, Wang Hua. The summit is to be held this year in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

During Friday’s meeting, Mr Dja and Mr Wang discussed bilateral co-operation. The Chinese Ambassador noted — as quoted by Macauhub — that Guinea-Bissau’s participation in the summit would be important for the development of the African nation in fields including agriculture, health, education and infrastructure.

According to Mr Wang, the summit would involve discussion on a number of topics, including projects funded by China, the report said.
