Petrobras informs that the FPSO Sepetiba left the shipyard Bomesc, in Tianjin, China, heading to Brazil on the 16th of June. The platform is expected to start operating in the fourth quarter of this year in the Mero field at the Libra block in the Santos Basin pre-salt area, with capacity to produce up to 180 thousand barrels of oil per day (bpd).

The unit will be the third FPSO to be installed in the Mero field, one of a total of five. The platform will be equipped with innovative technologies that combine increased efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

Mero currently produces about 230,000 bpd of oil and 15MMm³/d of gas. The unitized Mero field is operated by Petrobras (38.6%), in partnership with Shell Brasil (19.3%), TotalEnergies (19.3%), CNPC (9.65%), CNOOC (9.65%) and Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A (PPSA) (3.5%).
