The port of Vila do Conde became the first port authorized in the state of Pará for the export of corn to China. According to Hidrovias do Brasil, responsible for managing the port, the terminal has an impressive capacity to handle 7.2 million tons of grain annually and there are plans to expand the terminal’s capacity to 8 million tons by next year.

From January to May this year, Brazil has already exported 1.16 million tons of corn to China. These shipments began at the end of last year, after the opening of the Chinese market for Brazilian grain.

This achievement represents a valuable opportunity for the Brazilian market, boosting corn exports and strengthening the commercial partnership between Brazil and China.
