On December 12, the launch ceremony for the e-MOP prototype system and the publication of the digital pataca white paper was held by the Monetary Authority of Macao. The director of the Bank of Cape Verde, Antónia Lopes, was one of the guests invited by the Monetary Authority of Macao to the ceremony.
Antónia Lopes said that Cape Verde wants to deepen cooperation with Macao in the field of mobile payments, saying that Macao could be a good example for Cape Verde to follow in this area.
The president of the Monetary Authority of Macau, Chan Sau San, considered that e-MOP will increase financial inclusion and the Monetary Authority of Macau will promote the use of e-MOP in Portuguese-speaking countries.
