The Innovation Space of the Science and Technology Park (PCT) Guamá hosted, on the 14th, 15th and 16th of February, the symposium “Belém – China: Business and Opportunities”. Lectures, debates and seminars with the aim of establishing institutional relations and cooperation with Chinese public and private organizations were part of the program.

According to Agência Brasil and the Brazil-China Business Council, Chinese companies invested US$5.9 billion in Brazil in 2021. Chinese companies have implemented 28 major business projects in Brazilian territory.

“It is a great opportunity to discuss the potential of Belém in relation to the Asian market, particularly China. We are going to deal with attracting investments by encouraging foreign trade,” said the representative of the PCT Guamá.

The PCT Guamá, an initiative of the Government of Pará, is the first technological park to start operating in the northern region of Brazil, with the main objective of stimulating applied research and innovative entrepreneurship.
