Foton, the Chinese truck manufacturer, has opened an assembly line in Brazil. The CKD plant is located within Agrale's manufacturing complex in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, occupying an area of 6,000 square meters. Initially, the plant will assemble trucks and their components imported from China.

Brazil's Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, has said that the country is “on the verge of opening up the Chinese market to DDG”. Distillers Dried Grains (DDG) are a by-product of ethanol production, obtained from grains and used in animal feed.
